My Baby's Green: Luna Organics-Face Paint

For Gracie this came just in time for Halloween, but obviously these paints by Luna Organics can be used for any other reason as well. Now if I could actually create a look that wouldn’t scare other children away! Wait, that IS the idea of Halloween, isn’t it? Maybe my lack of this skill will be a good thing. Taking a picture while trying to keep Gracie from smudging it all off of her face was not going to work so you will just have to take my word for it :)

First thing that I feel is note worthy is that all of the face paints from Luna Organics are made from organic, hypoallergenic materials. For children, the big benefit is the lack of artificial dyes (FD&C or RDC colors) that can cause an allergic reaction. So whether it is finger paints or face paints, this is definitely the way I want to introduce any type of paint to Gracie.

I had the pleasure to review the Pixie Face Paint Kit from Luna Organics-This set comes with 5 paints (10g each: Pink, Purple, Green, Blue, Silver), a sponge, and 2 applicators. For $14.95 you can choose from many kits - Rainbow, Pixie, Animal Medley, and Clown-Pirate.

Luna Organics also offers Play Makeup, Party Favors and products for “Natural Girls”. All of the face paint kits come in a REUSABLE zippered pouch. The kit contains enough paint for multiple applications. Please note that all colors except the green are approved for use on lips.

Although all of the product contents are hypoallergenic, always perform a spot check on your child’s arm to make sure there is no reaction.

The Pixie Paint Face Kit included applicators but on Gracie my fingers worked best. The paints are lotion-based which made these paints creamier and smoother than others-no clumping at all. I was concerned that it would be difficult to come off of Gracie’s delicate skin and that there could be some staining but I had no problems with either. In fact, the paint came off easily with water and a washcloth.

Using the Pixie Face Paint was so much fun and I could see this being a perfect activity to do on a rainy day or for sleepovers. I really enjoyed being able to make up my daughter’s face no matter how she ended up looking in the end. I look forward to sharing this experience for many years. When we feel it is ok for Gracie to wear any type of makeup, we will be more than happy to introduce her to Luna Organics Essential Makeup for Tweens. The colors in this kit are pretty yet subtle, achieving a balance that young girls and parents alike will love.
