Cloud B Review

I had seen Twilight Turtle on store shelves several times, and it always caught my eye, but I just never was certain that it would work very well. When I received this product to review, I was pleasantly surprised with how well it actually does work. When you open the product up you find a fold out booklet that has “The Story of Twilight Turtle”, followed by instructions. The reverse side of the booklet has a guide to the constellations that Twilight Turtle will project onto the ceiling.
I have never been very interested in astronomy, at least beyond gazing up at the sky on a clear evening and enjoying the beauty of it, so the Twilight Turtle provided me with a mini-education on the constellations. There are eight constellations that are projected onto the ceiling when the toy is turned on. There is also a crescent moon that is projected as well, to add a little extra something for your child to locate when they stare up at their starry ceiling.
The stars are projected on the ceiling in the traditional five point shape that we associate with “stars”. The toy has three different colors that can be picked simply by pressing a button on the turtles shell. I found the amber color to be slightly washed out, however I was typically turning the toy on when Gracie was going to bed at night, which is usually around 8:00 PM, so it is still before dusk. The other two colors are blue and green and they both show up brightly on the ceiling. The turtle’s shell itself is like a night light that glows in whichever color you select for the stars. There is a fixed timer on the toy, so after 45 minutes it automatically shuts off. This saves the batteries, which are what power the toy. Before writing this review, we have used the Twilight Turtle for about three weeks, and the batteries are still working fine.
This is much better than the stick on the ceiling, glow in the dark stars that were around years ago, and the alternate colors are a nice bonus. With the booklet provided, your child will be able to see the shapes of constellations before bedtime, and then try to find them at night on their ceiling, as they drift off to sleep. We have tried a few toys that project light onto the ceiling in shapes or colors, and this one has by far worked the best. The toy is very easy to use, as mentioned it only has four buttons, off/on, and three color settings, so it is very user friendly. Cloud B has a variety of toys available, all geared at helping children sleep, so if you are looking for something like the Twilight Turtle, or maybe something that makes soothing sounds to help your baby sleep, take a few minutes to look at their product line.

  1. Thanks for the review! Have been thinking about getting a Twilight Turtle for my little man! I've always been a big astronomy/space stuff buff, so I think I'll have as much fun with it as he will! ;-)

  2. Both of my little ones love Twilight turtle. It gives off just enough light and interest in the stars that it eases their fears of the dark but doesn't hinder them from sleeping :)
