Is organic baby clothing really healthier for your baby? Whenever possible the answer is YES. Most of the chemicals found in regular baby clothing are cancer-causing chemicals. A study done by the National Cancer Institute found that children’s parents who used pesticides in their homes and gardens were at a higher risk of having leukemia then other children. These are the same pesticides that are used in producing cotton clothing that are widely used on our children. Organic baby clothing eliminates allergic reactions and health issues that comes from traditional cotton.
About Koa’s Mommy-I started it when my son was just a couple months old. I wanted to raise my son using organic clothing as well as feeding him organic foods since i was raised on organic products. I wanted to pass that tradition down to my kids. I want my kids to know that it doesn't take a a lot to help our environment and that Koa Naturals is doing it's part to save mother earth. Staying the organic path when raising a child can be very difficult in today's economy. Organic clothing on the market can be very expensive so I decided to start the business and create a line that was both easy on the pockets as well as adorable. The designs were inspired by my son's love of animals and they were the original drawings I created for him.
I was given a Onesie and Two T-Shirts to review and let me tell you they are absolutely ADORABLE! Not only are they made with 100% pima, unbleached natural cotton but they have the cutest little animal characters on them that the owner of Koa Naturals designed herself. The onesies have the animal designs on the bottom! You can choose from a monkey, panda, pig, dog, or lion. How cute is that to watch your baby crawl around with a character on his/her bottom?
Both the onesies and the tees are light weight but not thin like some can be. They are true to size, at least for Gracie they are. I don't know about you but it can be pretty hard to let people know what size your child wears when the range is WAY out there. A ten month old shouldn't have to wear 2T in some and 12, 18 or 24 months in others. They both have the lap shoulder neckline which for me was definitely a much needed bonus. Why? Because Gracie’s precious little head is so round that other tees are a bit difficult to put on but more especially when taking them off. Where her earlobes attach is where she would get the smallest of tears. It bothered me so much that I actually had to start buying her shirts/rompers in a larger size just to prevent that from happening as often as it was. As you know, finding lap should necklines for larger babies is not easy but is with Koa Naturals. Like I said, this was such bonus for me and I know it was for Gracie as well.
