Little Green Books {Giveaway}

Start Our Babies While They are Young
by planting the seeds of earth-friendly living with Little Green Books.

Gracie absolutely LOVES books.  When I put her down to play, a book is the first thing that she wants out of her toy basket.  I used to work in the media center at an elementary school so obviously I am thrilled. Eco-friendly books that tell stories about being "green" help to start them at a very young age to  enjoy books while teaching them the importance of of being “green” and obviously through repetition they will learn it even more.
Too many people ask what can they do when all it takes it one person to take that first step and then pass it along to another and so on. These books make it easy and fun for children PLUS parents.
Out the books that we reviewed, Gracie’s favorite two books were the Little Monkey and Little Panda. They are from the new "green" series that educate children on what they can do to be more eco-friendly.  These are the perfect gift for a baby!

The Little Monkey and Little Panda books are very soft cloth books that are made from 50% recycled material. The covers are Polartec® fleece made from recycled material. The fabric is machine-washable and the covers are embroidered. Packaged in a chipboard box made from 100% recycled material and safe for all ages. The soft fleece front cover features either a cute appliqued monkey or panda face with two little ears that small hands can hold on to. The inside "pages"  are printed on cotton fabric. Illustrations are cheerful and colorful. I love the stories which have just the right amount of words to keep Gracie engaged. So many soft books only have two or three words per page but these are so sweet and flow very nicely. The colors don't fade, but stay fresh-looking after washings. It's sized perfectly for babies to manage and for toddlers to carry around.  Because they are comforting to Gracie, one of these books stay in her crib so that when she wakes up it keeps her busy for an extra ten minutes while I get quickly get ready. Those extra ten minutes or so help me tremendously!
At first glance I was a little concerned that the lift the flap books that we reviewed would tear easily like some others, but these were stronger.  While reading the stories to Gracie I showed her how to carefully lift the flaps and from then on she did just that.  BONUS-Gracie would giggle when the flaps were lifted and she saw a cute little picture.

Don't Throw That Away!: A Lift-the-Flap Book about Recycling and Reusing

From turning old clothes into fun costumes or an old box into a brand new car, kids will learn that saving the environment is super cool!
What Do You See?: A Lift-the-Flap Book About Endangered Animals
The Author’s clever rhyming text entices young readers to guess which endangered species is hiding beneath each flap! From a panda bear to a butterfly, each spread features text and die cuts which hint at the animal's identity, until finally it is revealed by lifting the flap!
What sets these series of books apart from other "green" books is that in addition to the themes, the manufacturing of these books is also environmentally friendly. The books are printed on recycled materials with vegetable or soy inks.
