I was so excited when I received the package from Geared for Imagination.  In the box for review I found that there were two Original Deglingos-Nonos the Dog (11”) and Ronronos the Cat (10.5”) plus two Baby Deglingos (10.5”) of the the same name. How exciting!  First impression?  Super cute!  I let Gracie help and the first one she grabbed was one of the Original Deglingos, Ronronos the Cat.  Even though it had to be a quick picture, (with part of her head not being in the frame) you can see that it captured exactly how happy she was to get it, didn’t it? 

  

MY TAKE-They all have the look of a small-run, handmade plush line which is what I thought when I first saw them, but they’re not. From corduroy to cotton to felt to burlap, they use 50 different types of fabrics for the line and those materials vary in texture and style. When you add in the many colors that each fabric has, it gives each character a patched together look.  These plushies so much fun to not only play with but to just look at too.  

The bottoms of the Original Deglingos are tattooed with the Deglingo logo on the bottom, so that you know it is genuine. The bottom is soft but solid enough making it very easy to place on a shelf.  BONUS-These are all machine washable in cool water- air dry. Great for kids with any allergy or asthma problems, keeping them clean and safe!

  

Baby Deglingos-The bodies of these are made of super-soft corduroy and the outer parts are made with different textures and fabrics just like the Original Deglingos.  Gracie is cutting 5 teeth at one time and during this difficult time the Baby Deglingos were perfect for her.  She really liked to chew on their ears, to carry it with her in the car and in the stroller. This proved to me how well constructed they were too.  After a week of being chewed on I tested it out in the washer, cold setting (as usual) and air dryed it. Good as new-very durable.  At nap time, while she was trying to fall asleep, I watched her in the monitor to see what she would do with the Baby Deglingos and she did what I thought she would-she liked to feel the different textures until she fell asleep-a good ten minutes! 

Other characters within the Deglingos collection include: Croakos the Frog, Jambonos the Pig,  Pikos the Hedgehog, BigBos the Wolf, Chikos the Hen, Poilodos the Sheep, Milkos the Cow, Lapinos the Bunny, Ratos the Rat, and Molos the Lobster.  Deglingos offer different collections of designer soft toys, and in addition to the Original Deglingos, there are also Kicks-Adorable shoes, Baby Deglingos-blanket type, Mini-to clip on backpacks and more, Ducky Deglingos-for the bath, Discovery Deglingos-featuring crinkles, squeakers, and rattles making them perfect for a gift for smaller children too.

These patchwork animals are as full of life, personality and fun to squeeze as any stuffed animal you're bound to find. With so many details that help parents and encourage children to create fun stories about them. Great for interaction!
