Hank & JoJo Giveaway

Yes, the package from Hank & JoJo arrived!  I had been eyeing their cute little Retro Tubes Socks so I was thrilled to be able to review those.  What a pleasant surprise to be asked to review one of their new Organic Cotton Tops as well! 

MY TAKE-Retro Baby Tube Socks-Ok, these bamboo tube socks really took me back in time. That’s not always a good thing but seeing Gracie in them was just what I needed to forget wearing that uniform in gym class  with the most horrible tube socks ever.  The tube socks from Hank and JOJO were NOTHING like those.  So much softer and I know for a fact that the ones I had in school were not made from earth friendly Bamboo and dyed with AZO-free dyes like H&J’s are. Four pairs of non slip socks come in this cute mini-tin lunch box.  Pear, Strawberry, Blueberry, and Banana!  With the tin box being lead free, printed with food grade ink, it is perfect for storing odds and ends in the nursery!  Right now I use it to house Gracie’s barrettes and hair bows in. 

You have all seen pics of Gracie and with those legs of hers I didn’t think the socks I received would fit at all so I was a little bummed but H&J owner, Andriana, chose the right size. My husband also quickly pointed out that I had them pulled up over Gracie’s knees and if I just lowered them to right below the knee where tube socks are to go they would fit.  Guess I thought they were to go up the leg like leggings do. Eh, what can I say-it had been that kind of day. 

MY TAKE-Organic Cotton Top-I just LOVE clothes for Gracie that are made from organic cotton. It’s a bonus if they have Eco-friendly design on them that send a message on them as well. There’s also nothing better than a top featuring a design that no one else has seen yet!  Gracie received a 2T, long sleeve, crew neck, Organic Cotton Top, that said "Give Seas a Chance - Save the Gulf" which was printed with eco-friendly, water-based, low impact dyes and even though the top is imported, it’s printed in Brooklyn, NY!  My eldest son, Adam and his girlfriend, Ashley, are studying to become Marine Biologists so they definitely liked the message that it sends and they both wished it came in larger sizes!  Good news is they do come in smaller sizes in a onesie style.

First thing I did was wash the top in cold and dried it on normal heat to see if there would any shrinkage and there wasn’t. Gracie wears a 2T in almost everything that people purchase for her but when it comes to this and other high quality made organic clothing, she wears exactly what her size SHOULD be. The organic cotton seems to be cut from the same fabric as the organic nightgown, onesie and pants that I have at MBG, which is a good thing. It is made thicker than most and just keeps getting softer after every wash and dry. Close knit material like this can and will last a VERY long time, so even though it can’t grow along with the Gracie, it can be passed down to other wee ones.  This top really is worth adding to your child’s wardrobe.  After looking at the picture above,  I think it's softness reminder Gracie of the clothes she wore as a baby- so comfortable that she started to relax/fall asleep!
