Juvenile Solutions-Baby Cubes Review

I made Gracie’s own baby food up until she could finger feed herself but I did use commercially packaged baby food when we were traveling because it was more convenient.  Making your own baby food is just another option to consider if you're looking to save money, help the environment and help your children develop a taste for the fresh stuff right off the bat.

Making  your own baby food is not really as much trouble as you might think, and besides, there are good benefits.
1. It's cheaper than buying commercial baby food products.
2. You are sure the foods you're serving your child don't contain any additives or preservatives.
3. It helps your child develop a taste for fresh fruits and vegetables from the start.
4. It's good for the environment. Less bottles and packaging means less waste in landfills. There's also less food waste since you won't have to throw out half-eaten jars of baby food.
5. It allows you to have total control over what your child is eating.

How I made Gracie’s baby food-I preferred keeping it easy and chose fruits or veggies that are softened when steamed. Pears are a good first food to make. Follow this same process for any food you pick: sweet potatoes, squash, apple.

1. Boil water.
2. Add peeled and diced fruit.
3. Poke with a fork to check status. When the fork pierces into the food easily, you’re done boiling it.
4. Remove from stove top
5. Pour out most of the water. Leaving some is fine.
6. Puree. Use a food processor or a blender if you have those. I have a stick mixer and I HIGHLY recommend it.
7. Set aside what you need for the day or two and freeze the rest in ice cube trays or better yet, BABY CUBES

My Take-These cubes come in three sizes (1, 2 and 4 ounce) and can be mixed and matched to fit into trays.  They really are quite handy. When Gracie was first eating solids, I was making my own purees and using another brand but they were not big enough so I always had to use two. There is a fill line that I recommend never filling beyond that point. There is a tray that comes with it which can be written on with dry erase marker to label your foods. I really like the fact that I can easily feed baby out of the cubes so I don't have to transfer to another bowl. Baby Cubes are a little larger so very handy for babies starting to eat larger portions. Right now I use Baby Cubes for Gracie’s snacks-applesauce,cut up fruit, cheese, organic o’s etc and for baby leftovers which all can be carried in my diaper bag EASILY! I even use a couple for putting her small barrettes and extra buttons in!  Not only do I really appreciate the small size and versatility of these cubes, it's helpful that they can go in the freezer and are also dishwasher safe.  Baby Cubes have a lid attached directly to each cube for a hassle-free and convenient way to store baby food. Eight independent two-ounce cubes with lids snap into the tray and go safely from freezer to microwave to dishwasher. You can even write date and contents information directly on the storage tray with a dry erase marker (not included).  They are stackable and airtight. 100% NON-TOXIC polypropylene.
You definitely can't beat the price for the variety of uses that these cubes are so handy for!

  8. public blog follower GFC-I haven't tried making baby food for my grandson yet, but plan on it as soon as he gets a little older. His big brother enjoyed it, so I hope he will too. These cubes are so convenient... much better than what I was using. I also think that the bottle buddy they have on site is adorable, no better way to combine a bottle with a stuffed animal for cuddling... baby gets the best of both worlds.
