organicKidz Stainless Steel Baby Bottle Giveaway

When bottle-feeding your baby, you want to make sure you’re using a safe, healthy baby bottle. OrganicKidz makes stainless steel baby bottles designed to be better and healthier for baby.

Why Stainless Steel Bottles-The most obvious advantage to stainless steel is its durability and longevity.  This is because of its alloy composition (meaning it is a composite of a number of metals).   The result is an inert metal that is resistant to corrosion and will not break down or become brittle when exposed to heat or cold.  Unlike some plastics, it does not need additional chemical treatments to increase its durability.   Furthermore, it will not shatter when dropped, or scratch with normal use. The scratch resistance of Stainless Steel also means that food or bacteria cannot find a place to hide, even after washing.
Stainless Steel is the first choice of hospitals, kitchens and food processing plants because of its easy cleaning ability. You do not need to use strong chemical cleaners to ensure that the product is clean and it is not prone to increased wear and tear from repeated washing.
Stainless Steel is a 100% recyclable product.  In fact the industry has aggressively pursued recycling strategies for many years.  In 2002 alone,  approximately 12 million tons of stainless steel was recycled.   This means that 50-60% of every Stainless Steel product is made from recycled materials (International Stainless Steel Forum, http://www.worldstainless.org/ISSF/Files/Recycling/Flash.htmlAs pointed out in the Financial Post (February 23, 2008)…”They put stainless steel pins in your body and people live with them…There is no health issue.”

About-Jane founded organicKidz in 2008, out of a desire to provide children and parents with a toxin free, unbreakable alternative to plastic and glass bottles.  ”When the BPA scare hit, I felt tremendous guilt that my children had used plastic bottles. At the time I thought I was using the best bottles, but the brand I was using was one of the worst. I don’t think I will ever get over that guilt, but it fueled a passion in me.”  Her focus ever since has been to get organicKidz baby bottles into the hands of as many children as possible.  What has been her most inspiring event since starting organicKidz?  When she got a call from a pediatric ICU nurse from a Canadian hospital telling her the story of a 6 month old baby who had spent 5 of his 6 months in a the hospital with cancer. After finally getting a clean bill of health, the baby wasn’t going to be released as he wasn’t drinking anything despite the staff’s best efforts.  Luckily, one of the nurses brought in an organicKidz bottle – the baby took to it immediately and was released a day later after spending virtually his entire life in the hospital. His parents and staff were referring to organicKidz bottles as “miracle bottles.” As Jane put it, “Hearing stories like this validates everything I’m trying to accomplish.”

My Take-I have spent at LEAST a hundred dollars on the right sippy cup for Gracie.  When she was about 6 months, she stopped wanting a bottle so the search began. Problems with ones we tried-either she would take too much in, not enough, or they gave her the ability to shake milk all over. Even though she seemed to enjoy the messes she created (so did the dogs) for me the worse was going on a trip and when it was time to feed her I would find out that the milk had become to warm/hot. As you can imagine, not good when you have a hungry baby that has liked her formula cold since birth.

They offer different colors for sippy spouts to choose from, but I was told that the Philips Avent sippy spouts would work and they did.  Gracie either drinks water, juice, herbal tea or milk out of  her stainless steel bottle and has done extremely well with it.  Because I fill the bottle with liquids straight from the refrigerator, the only thing that that she seemed curious about was how cold the outside was to the touch.  She got over that in about 3 minutes.  Gracie doesn’t care too much about not being able to shake her drinks out of it but I sure do!  No leaks mean we now don't go anywhere without it!

More Awesome features-
  • OrganicKidz stainless steel baby bottles can match any other nipple brand in the market-great option for babies that aren’t quite sure what nipple is best.
  • The lid doubles as a 2oz/60mL measuring cup which is great for formula feeding and it also doubles as a snack cup.
  • If you breastfeed, breast milk can even be frozen and stored in organicKidz bottles!
  • The unique bottle design allows for easy heating and cooling of liquids – bottles can even be heated in a cup of hot water.
  • Naturally bacteria resistant, durable, light weight and dishwasher safe
  • Then once you are ready to get rid of the silicon nipples, sippy spouts or even a sport cap can replace them.

These stainless steel bottles are such a great investment that are not only safe and healthier for little ones but also in the long run SAVE you money!

I love their site - it's great that they have so much information about the bottles and about the chemicals in traditional plastic bottles (scary!). And it's neat that the lids act as a measuring cup!

  32. I never even thought about using stainless steel for bottles, of course, I don't remember seeing stainless steel as an option either. Of course, I don't even have kids yet so the only time I would have seen them was buying baby shower gifts. lol!

I would love to win though, on of my sisters is pregnant again and this would make for a great surprise for her.

I follow you via gfc now, thanks for checking out my blog www.outwardlypleasant.blogspot.com.

I checked out the companies website too. Love that the bottles can be converted to sippy cups when needed, sounds like a win-win to me. I'm saddened they aren't sold in any stores in my area though.
