Always organic. Always delicious. Always family.
Family is the reason ZenSoy is always organic! They’ve been committed to providing families with wholesome, good-for-you delicious beverages for 5 generations. And, good-for-you means using only soybeans that are certified organic and grown in the U.S.
What’s the point in offering a healthy product that’s been doused in pesticides? Or been changed through genetic modification? The answer seemed obvious to our family, too! While some soy milks claim to be “natural,” we don’t think there’s anything natural or wholesome about pesticides.
Pandas Against Pesticides is ZenSoy’s campaign to safeguard the environment and our food supply from harmful chemical pesticides. They are pledging 5% of all profits to international wildlife organizations and to promote organic farming.
Why is ZenSoy good for you? The soy protein found in ZenSoy protects against many of the effects of aging. Diets low in saturated fat and cholesterol that include 25 grams of soy protein a day may reduce the risk of heart disease. One serving of ZenSoy provides 7 grams of protein.
Certified organic soybeans – the only kind ZenSoy uses – are a nutritious food with amazing health benefits. Yet 97% of all soybeans are sprayed with pesticides. We don’t think it’s healthy or natural to serve our family or yours food that has been doused with pesticides. We also think organic soybeans taste better, are safer for you and your family, and don’t pollute the soil and ground water with chemicals. The mention of organic natural flavors lets the consumer know the natural flavors are the actual real plant extractions; (vanilla bean, vanilla leaf, coco bean, banana plant, etc.). Organic products are grown without the use of herbicides or pesticides, using sustainable agricultural methods such as crop rotation and water conservation.
For this review I was sent ZenSoy Pudding and Soy on the Go
ZenSoy Pudding-Yummy pudding PLUS good for you? I’m sold! Their products contain isoflavones, and these isoflavones, or plant estrogens, show substantial health benefits in helping to lower cholesterol. Isoflavones also fight osteoporosis, reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and a variety of cancers, lessen menopausal symptoms and improve breast, endometrial, colon and prostate health. Wow! Everything but the heart and prostate seems to be personally geared towards me! TMI?
These puddings come in four flavors-Vanilla, Chocolate, Chocolate Vanilla Swirl, and Banana. My husband doesn’t care for soy so they were not a big hit with him so that left more for Gracie, Jesse and I :) Even though they are all delicious, rich and creamy, my favorite was the chocolate and vanilla swirl pudding. They are a bit sweet for Gracie, the chocolate has 21 grams, so I did limit her to half a serving. And just like baby food, if you think a serving is too much, I would recommend taking half out before feeding from the container.
Soy on the Go-These come in three flavors-Vanilla, Chocolate and Cappuccino. These went over very well with both my sons and ones girlfriend because when I went to try them only two were left-Cappuccino and Chocolate. I quickly took one and hid the other. That’s right, I had to hide them from my family just so I could review them! We all agreed that they helped with our cravings and tied us all over until lunch time. The taste was smooth, not thick at all. Just like soy milk-not silk which is creamier.
About three weeks ago, Gracie finally learned how to sip from a straw so these could really come in handy. They work just like a juice box and do not require any refrigeration making them easy to take along. I don’t get enough protein so the 7 grams that the Cappuccino at least gave me something towards my daily goal :) These are USDA certified organic and vegan-lactose free, gluten free, free of MSG (which gives me terrible headaches) and free of eggs and casein, so it should be great for kids with either animal product allergies or are lactose intolerance. They are also calcium enriched!
All in all, in my opinion these are yummy alternatives to those other brands that aren't as good for you-we all know the ones
Every time you choose ZenSoy, you and your family are taking a stand against threats to our health and environment.
