Bambo Nature Giveaway-7 WINNERS!

Bambo Nature-The premium Eco-diaper for parents who care!

Bambo Nature diapers are just like ordinary disposables, but they have a much lower Eco footprint. They have been awarded the Nordic Swan Eco Label which guarantees a high quality product that meets strict environmental demands for both your baby and the planet. Bambo Nature diapers are both ultra-thin and ultra-absorbent with a unique layer that draws wetness away from baby's skin, keeping baby dry and comfortable even with repeat wetting. The diapers have been designed in conjunction with parents to assure the product has a practical design and are user friendly. These Eco-friendly, skin friendly disposables have an absorbent core containing starch, a 100% biodegradable natural absorber. These diapers are 75% biodegradable as opposed to the 35% in standard diapers.
Bambo Nature has been evaluated on its:

Energy and resource consumption
Factory emissions into air, water and land
Limits on the creation of waste products
The content of environmentally hazardous substances in the product.

Bambo and the Environment
Work with environmental issues is given high priority at Bambo Nature. Instead of viewing environmental work as an expense, we consider it a prerequisite for the creation of a successful company.
What’s an environmentally conscious company to do? To help minimize impacts on the environment and our health, Abena, the manufacturer of Bambo Nature, has voluntarily elected to undergo strict, rigorous environmental inspections of their products. The setting of criteria is based on an assessment of impacts during the whole life-cycle - all the way from raw material to production, consumption and waste. This means all raw material suppliers, business partners, distributors, and subsidiaries must embrace these principals and actively take them on board in daily business practice. Abena and their raw material suppliers have been independently tested and successfully have complied with a number of strict conditions regarding the environmental impact of their products. Abena’s Bambo nature is the only Baby Diaper in the world with a certified Eco-label; called the Nordic Swan Eco-label. In addition, Abena pursues a comprehensive Total Quality Management policy with ISO certificates, OSHA certificates, other health certificates, and is a member of the United Nation’s Global Compact. To see all certificates in PDF visit HERE.
Please visit Bambo Nature where you can read more on their ingredients, features, and label.

My Take-Even though I typically use cloth diapers on Gracie from Sunday through Friday, at night but on Saturdays and trips, I do use Eco- friendly diapers. These diapers come in 5 sizes and are also available by the case. When you purchase over $50 y ou automatically get free shipping which the route I chose. They do run a bit large so I would suggest to choose your child’s size carefully. Gracie is 17 months now and weighs 31 pounds and with the size 4 maxi being 26-48, I thought I would go ahead and get size 5 which is for 33-55 lbs. These are great for overnight, and for going on outings when cloth is too much trouble for some.

They have easy to adjust fasteners that I was able to open and close as many times as I needed to. Sounds simple enough but I have tried compostable disposables before and I was not able to do this without it fraying quite a bit. When they would fray Gracie would start pulling at the threads.

Not one diaper tab tore from me stretching them too much. Yes, I have had that happened to me as well. It's pretty frustrating when you are changing a wiggle worm, get her diaper ointment on, diaper placed to only have the tab rip right off from the diaper. Grrr!
The flexible side panels stretched enough to make up for them being a little too big for Gracie without leaving marks on her chubby little thighs.
What it did have that other Eco-friendly diapers I have tried didn’t have was a wetness indicator. I would think that the size of the diaper on the front helps if you have more then one child in diapers and need to find the right size that fits each.
They are pretty soft, not stiff at all. I’m sure Gracie appreciates that too :) I know for sure that she likes the little bear, duck and butterflies that are across the top on her size. Since she has a little muffin top, she would raise her belly up to point to them and smile real big while naming the ones she could. BONUS-they are absorbent without all the gel that most other diapers use. This is a huge one for me. When we were blessed with Gracie many gave us disposable with Dry Max and they actually ended up causing her little bottom breakouts/tiny blisters. As you can guess, I felt like a terrible parent. It was a hard lesson for me to learn but I never went back to any of those or the others again. I stuck with Eco-friendly diapers all the way until she turned 6 months. That is when I started using cloth more.
These diapers by Bambo Nature are now my go to disposable diaper not only because of the diapers features, but also because of the company.

Good news!
Once you baby is ready for potty training and you would rather use a disposable instead of cloth, Bambo Nature also sells Eco-friendly disposable training pants are ideal to help with potty training! They come in two sizes and like the diapers, they can be purchased by the case.
Bambo Nature Training Pants benefits:
  • Free from chlorine, perfumes, optical brighteners & lotions
  • The inner fluff is made from timber from 100% certified sustainable resources
  • Latex-free waist band and leg cuffs
  • Phalate-free absorbent core
  • NO optical whiteners
  • NO chlorine bleach
  • The breathable backsheet allows air to circulate to the skin, reducing moisture content, thereby reducing the risk of skin irritation.
Ideal for potty training, these Training Pants are easy for your baby to pull up and down. For easy changing, the side seam can also be opened if required.
The packaging is made from Low Density Poly Ethylene. This can be used in the production of further recycled plastic - it known as one of the 'clean plastics'.

  6. I subscribe. We cloth diaper, but have to use disposable at the daycare. Right now I use Huggies Pure and Natural because other disposables give her a rash...I would love to try an eco-friendly, butt-friendly option...but I am always afraid to shell out the money when I have a disposable that works!

I want to try them because they don't have all the harmful chemicals. I don't use cloth diapers so this is a better alternative.

  13. I use cloth on my babies bc I know there are a lot of "ingredients" in disposables that can irritate their skin. However, I DO use disposables at night bc cloth seems to leak. Most mornings, my oldest wakes up with a full diaper and the gel bead thingies are on her bottom. I love that this product does not use those. They are such a pain!~email subscriber

I love that the product does not have any crazy chemicals.
I've heard that some chemicals in other diapers can cause testicle cancer in males. They hold a chemical that has been outlawed in the use of tampons. Testicle cancer is on the rise; since more people started using disposable diapers more and more.

  36. I follow you in Feedburner via My Yahoo (jteneback.) Someone was just telling me about these diapers on Friday! We use cloth but are planning a weekend trip in July with no washer/dryer. I would love to give these a try then - we will need something disposable and it would be better if it were earth-friendly.

  37. Wow, Disposable diapers with a conscience! 75% biodegradable is wonderful compared to the typical 35% for typical disposables. Kudos to Bambo! We cloth diaper almost exclusively, but I do like the convenience of disposable for travel (airplanes have no water in the toilet to dunk!) and the rare teenage babysitter.

I really want to win these for my sister who is due soon with her first baby. I cloth diaper & have tried getting her to do it when the baby arrives, but she insists on using disposables. This way, she could use these & still get her disposable while leaving a smaller footprint. Love the fact that this is an alternative with less chemicals.

  87. Am subscribed via feedburner. My sister is due in Nov and my son has decided to make me a grandma. My sister has already told me she won't CD (am still working on it though) and my son's gf is only 17 so although I will try to get her to use them, I am doubtful. These would make awesome baby shower gifts to give to them that will be much better than regualr disposables!

Both CDs and disposables have their pros and cons. These take away a lot of the cons of disposables (the chemicals and some of the environmental impact). I think they would be great for travel and even those days when I know I won't feel like do more laundry (I hate doing laundry!).
