Wooden toys are great, aren't they? For me they bring back memories of a simpler life. Playing outside at my PawPaw’s house while listening to the nature’s music. The rustling of so many silver leaf maple leaves blowing in the wind, PawPaw working in the barn or on his latest woodworking project (I could imagine PawPaw making this type of toy except without any color), dogs barking, cows mooing, and the occasional rooster getting after the chickens. That part of my life was filled with less plastic, more playing outside and using my imagination to keep me busy. This is what I hope to offer Gracie some day but for now I can at least offer her less toxic toys that include more wooden toys.
Eco-Friendly Toys for Babies and Toddlers
Down To Earth Toys carefully selects baby and toddler toys that are made of Eco-friendly, organic, biodegradable, recyclable or recycled materials. We do a lot or research to offer toys that encourage both self play and interactive playtime between you and your child. We know that quality play time is important in your child's emotional, social and intellectual development.
Safe Toys for Your Child
All of the toys found at Down to Earth Toys meet or exceed the established North American and European safety standards. All finishes are child-safe and non-toxic. We are thrilled each time we find a new organic toy to offer. We also carry a selection of Fair Trade toys (provided by companies in other countries who adhere to very strict safety and fair labor guidelines).
We Care about our Children’s future
Down To Earth Toys are dedicated to running our business in the most ecologically sound way that we can.We carry this out by recycling, conserving energy and supporting manufacturers who share our founding principles. We want to leave as little of an impact on our planet, so that all of our children have a wonderful place to grow and play!
My Take-I was sent the Arch House Red for Gracie to try and even though it said it was for 3Y and up, with my supervision she ended up having a wonderful time with it! So did I :) This toy is 4.75"(H) x 7.75"(W) x 3"(D), HANDCRAFTED from a 3 inch block of wood and dyed with child safe colors with no varnishes! As you can see, the colors are bright while still letting the natural wood grain to show through.
For the next 30 minutes, (she is an 18 month old toddler you know) we built, stacked and balanced. She even took other toys she had and placed them in the little tunnels.

It appealed not only to Gracie but to me too. As soon as I built the tower, she couldn't wait to topple it down to do her own thing.
For some reason she loves putting things on top of her head. Think she will grow out of it? Haha.
Down To Earth Toys offers top quality Toys Made in the USA. They feel that protecting your child, while also supporting America’s economy, are of utmost importance. They know that American made toys are constructed with safe materials and built by fair labor practices. Whether you are looking for organic toys, baby toys, toddler toys, or outdoor toys… know that you have found a store that is dedicated to offering you toys that you will feel great about giving to your child!

ReplyDeleteSo hard to choose a toy from Down to Earth! I would have to choose the Double Skin Drum or the Garden and Beach Tool Set. I have 2 children, so I always think in 2s. :) They love playing instruments inside and playing in sand outside.
