The Peaceful Housewife Natural Household Cleaner Recipes. A collection of gentle, environmentally friendly household cleaners from our peaceful home to yours.
Have you always wanted to make your own household cleaners, but you weren't sure which recipes to use? This is the book for you! In this book, The Peaceful Housewife gives recipes and directions for over 30 natural household products, from laundry care to bug sprays and more!
My Take-Because I have never reviewed an e-book, I wasn’t sure what to expect but loved that it was eco-friendly instead of being sent an actual book. Only thing is I did end up printing it because there were so many recipes, more like all, that I really wanted to try and ended up liking! Recipes that can be found in this e-book are: Powdered Laundry Detergent, Fabric Softener, Gel Stain Treatment, Spray Stain Treatment, Foaming Dish or Hand Soap, Dishwasher Detergent, Wet Mop Refills, Carpet Cleaner, Glass Cleaner, Multipurpose Spray Cleaner, Disinfecting Wipe Solution, Scouring Powder, Diaper Pail Freshener, Furniture Polish, Pet Sprays, Makeup Brush Cleaner, Granite Cleaner, Oven Cleaner, Brass Cleaner and Liquid Scrubbing Cleaner. All are GREEN which as you know is a BIG BONUS for me, but add on that they are simple and inexpensive to make? I'm hooked. Some recipes even give you more than one option! All ingredients that were needed in all recipes were in my pantry except for the citric acid that the “Dishwasher Detergent” recipe called for. Not bad, right? My husband's favorite recipe is the “Wet Mop Refills” which calls for only four ingredients while mine is the “Disinfecting Wipe Solution” that only requires five ingredients. My husband and I both enjoyed that we could add any essential oil that we each preferred. He likes lemon where I like to choose pink grapefruit or eucalyptus. After I made the wipe solution, it was used by each one of my family members (except of course for our toddler Gracie) at least once a day either to wipe down a bathroom or kitchen counter, the table on the deck or some type of a mess, like my daughter’s potty training accidents. Next on our list is to make the bug spray. We like to sit on our deck to have our dinner but haven't been able to for awhile because of all the mosquitoes that feast mainly on me. Thankfully Gracie only gets a couple bites while my husband doesn't get any! What's up with that?
