Pear Tree Greeting Card Giveaway-5 Winners!

SEND A SMILE!
The unexpected compliment. The hug you were so desperately needing. The hand-addressed envelope in the mailbox with your name on it. Those are life’s sweet spots. At Pear Tree, they believe in the special moments when lives thoughtfully intersect, and are dedicated to providing easy and affordable ways to create more of them.

A little history-It is believed the early Chinese were the first to send what could be called a greeting card - for the New Year they sent tidings of good will. Evidence also shows that ancient Egyptians wrote greetings on papyrus scrolls.
The next stop on the timeline is around 1400 when the Germans used woodcuts to print New Year's wishes. In the early or mid 1400s Europeans exchanged handmade paper greetings for Valentine's Day. The British Museum has a Valentine from the 1400s that is the oldest known greeting card in existence.
The introduction of the postage stamp in 1840 helped the popularity of the greeting card. What was once relatively expensive, hand made, and personally-delivered gift became an effective and affordable means of personal communication.

My Take-Even though I try to be GREEN by sending e-cards instead of actual cards through the post office, I still buy and hand write Christmas cards and special notes when I feel there are a better fit for the purpose I need them for.
Green Tip-Reuse one side. When I receive a card from anyone, my husband smiles at me when I get all excited about being able to reuse it as a postcard! This only happens if the back side of the picture wasn’t written on so imagine my disappointment when I can't reuse it.
The cards that I received to review are blank inside and of a nice heavy quality, not thin at all. The outside of all were simple but also cute. My favorite, that I sent to my husbands’s work address, was the one with lemons on it. On the outside it said “Pucker Up”
The cards offered by pear tree range from beautiful or adorable and simple.  With all of the options out there, it may be difficult to pick the best greeting card website that will offer what you're looking for.
Traditional greeting cards are a sure-fire way to put a smile on some one's face and little more personal. Use these cards to spread some cheer, show some support, or send some love.
