I realize that any of my posts labeled “Links Worthy to Note” may be a little overwhelming to some but they aren’t meant to be. If an article peaked my interest, I post about it. Like anything on the internet there is an abundance of information out there for us to sort through/research then to make an educated decision (guess) what to do with it.
These links to articles were either found or sent to me and then shared on My Baby’s Green Facebook page ending January 18, 2011.

I've heard a lot of old wives' tales about staying healthy in the winter, from always covering your head to drinking hot water with lemon and honey. While I've got nothing against a cute hat, I'm sticking with science, more specifically, the science of food. In the winter, our immune systems are challenged by the cold and the plethora of viruses roaming around playgroups, classrooms and public transportation, so give your immune system a boost with these five winter power foods. http://www.organicauthority.com/health/immune-boosting-power-foods-prevent-cold-and-flu.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+OrganicAuthority+(Organic+Food%2C+Healty+Recipes%2C+Green+Living+-+Organic+Authority.com)

Anxiety and insomnia are health concerns which may appear together and are often also linked to depression. These three health issues have a significant impact on people's lives and on our national health care economy. Within any 12 month period, 18% of adults suffer from anxiety, while nearly 29% will do so at some time during their life. Similarly, as much as 30% of the population may suffer from some form of insomnia, including a high percentage of those individuals diagnosed as depressed. Annual economic costs are significant and range from estimates of $15 billion for medical care to as much as $150 billion in lost productivity. While medical interventions are common, there are a variety of natural solutions including chamomile, a common herb which is inexpensive and readily available with minimal side effects. http://www.naturalnews.com/034454_chamomile_anxiety_depression.html

Somewhere along our American Journey, we've convinced ourselves that birds make for a healthier meal option than cows or pigs. But nothing could be further from the truth; in fact, eating chicken may hold more dangers than its fellow barn mates. While organically and ethically raised animals are always a better option than not, there's still plenty of reasons chicken is not a health food. #3-A common industry practice involves feeding chickens arsenic in order to make them grow faster. It's highly toxic to humans and can cause cancer, dementia, neurological problems, and other ailments.. http://www.organicauthority.com/health/8-reasons-chicken-is-not-a-health-food.html

I have hopes that at least one of them will convince my 18 years old and hubby to finally quit drinking soda or only as a treat. When I first met my hubby, he used to go through a case in a day! Even though they've both have drastically cut back, my hubby still doesn't reach for water. It has to be doctored up with some mix. I have to remind myself-baby steps, baby steps... My oldest son stopped about 2 years ago. Are you still having a hard time breaking the addiction to soda?
